Cage- I Never Knew You.
I thought that Cage would be a good representative for the amplification section of this activity because a large selection of his songs provide a message that can be interpreted in either a naive way or in one of a darker nature. being an independent artist he had only made about two music video's and out of the two this one has more direction in terms of narrative where two parallel stories are overlapped creating new routes, the video emphasizes the deep nature of the lyrics adding a new and slightly exhilarating dimension to the song as he plays on a topic often avoided
by most artists( mental health, stalking and possible murder.) The video for the most part appears to follow the conventions of a illustrative video however the visuals included in the outro and last chorus provides us with an ending associated with amplification as it isn't exactly made clear in the lyrics and it gives you a slightly different understanding of the narrative and song it'self.
